Christmas Cookies! And a Good Cause by Donna

Donna, the owner of Pip's Boutique, is one of the most generous people I know. Today she surprised me with this plate of holiday cookies. To spread holiday cheer, she buys cookies from the Corning Area Women's Club and packages them up on plates with bows to give to the people who support her and her store. (I make jewelry for her store.) She certainly made me happy -- what a treat!

There is something about a plate of Christmas cookies, with their mix of texture and colors, that is so ---- well, joyful!!! Donna is also a loyal follower of Feast Everyday, so I thought this would be the perfect way to get her to contribute to the blog. So, I interviewed her. I asked her what she thought was best about these cookies: "Because they are all delicious and homemade and I didn't have to make them! And I am supporting a good cause. What's not to like about that?" The women in the Corning Women's club each make a different kind of cookie --- like a cookie exchange, or as they sometimes call it around here, a cookie walk ---and then sell them by the pound. All of the proceeds go to their education fund.

We oohed and awed over all the different types of cookies that she had selected: the traditional ones as well as the ones where people made little tiny cut out cookies or elaborate oatmeal wreaths with candy sticks. Thanks, Donna! As you would say, yum!!!
